How to become an Animator : Overview

If you're attracted to animation and want a career making cool special effects or computer games or animated websites, become an animator.

How to become an animator

If you want to become an animator, chances are you draw already. To turn that ability into an animation career, you'll need to develop your skills in a university or art school bachelor's degree program. In school, you'll develop a collection or portfolio of your best work, drawing both by hand and with computers. If you get an internship while you're studying, you'll have an excellent foot in the door of an animation career.

Animation careers

To get your first job, you'll show your portfolio to prospective employers in the movies, in the video industry, in advertising or media. After that, your work will speak for itself. Breaking into the field can be a challenge, but once you become an animator you can make a healthy living at it.
