Become a legal assistant and you could be working right along side the District Attorney as she prepares to prosecute a hardened criminal.

Doing extensive background research and preparing informative reports are just a few of the duties you will be assigned should you choose to become a legal assistant. You will need to know the ins and outs of the legal system in order to be a successful paralegal. Many firms require you to complete a two year paralegal training course before you become a member of their team. You will also spend some time training on the job to get a feel for what a legal assistant does.

One great reason to become a legal assistant is for the chance to do something good for your fellow man. When you help a lawyer put a criminal behind bars for good, that can be a great feeling. Your positions as a paralegal is a great training ground to eventually become a lawyer. Many of the duties will give you a glimpse of the inside workings of our justice system. This can be some invaluable, real world experience for your career.
